About the Rocketts Landing Run to the River
10K Hill Run & 5K Walk - Saturday, October 18, 9:30 a.m.
Run to the River is a new, challenging 10k event presented by Rocketts Landing to benefit the Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC). The race will start from the NRC, located at 1519 Williamsburg Road in Fulton Hill, on Saturday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m. The Run to the River course leads runners over three steep hills (Powhatan, Potomac and Libby Hills) and along Richmond's historic and scenic riverfront. It's a great way to prepare for the Richmond Marathon!
A 5K walk through Greater Fulton will take place simultaneously. Runners and walkers will celebrate at the finishing line party, which will feature an alternative health fair, healthy food from Ellwood Thompson's Local Market, and live music in the NRC's new Garden Café.
There are two ways to register for Run to the River:
- For the Course: Runner/Walker pays a flat registration fee of $25 to enter the race.
- For the Cause: Runner/Walker pays no entry fee but agrees to do his/her personal best to raise $100 for the Neighborhood Resource Center. Persons who raise more than $100 are eligible for prizes including $100 gift cards from Ellwood Thompson's Local Market. Last year's top "fund-runner" raised $561!

Run for a Cause
Run to the River is a fundraising event to support the NRC, a vibrant educational and cultural center dedicated to fostering personal growth and community change in the Greater Fulton area.
There are two ways to participate in the race: as a registrant (a flat $25 fee) or as a "fund-runner" (a Samaritan with sneakers!) All proceeds go to benefit the Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC), a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Fundraising is easier than you might think! Remember, if just 10 people sponsor you for $10 each, you've raised $100.

Visit the link above and click on Get Started, where you can create your own free online fundraising page in less than five minutes, and start raising more money faster than through offline efforts. You can include a personal message, an optional photo (or choose an image already available), and a personalized web address for your page.
Online fundraising is easy, effective and fun! When you're done creating your fundraising page, email your supporters a link to your page to let them make a fast, secure online donation. An automatic "Thank You" email will be sent to all donors with a message that you can customize. You'll be able to view online donations on your page, an you can update your page with offline donations.
